In light of the fact that Feb 12 is Darwin Day, I wrote a little poem about someone I think is pretty awesome:
There was once a man with a long beard
who noticed something a little weird.
Animals and plants over time would change,
especially when on the other side of an ocean or range.
He wrote a book about this, called "On The Origin of the Species",
and this theory helped explain why humans are different to chimps (who occasionally throw faeces).
His science got some people into a tizzy, and made churchgoers and creationists dizzy.
But no-one can deny Darwin's contribution to biology
And many biologists are grateful he never ended up joining the clergy.
